ITS OFFICIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woooo Hooo!!!!!!!  Its official yall!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am up and running with www.mysewcalledlife.com!!!!!!  So excited that its finally working!  GoDaddy.com is amazing.  They are fast and efficient!  Highly recommended if you are going to purchase a domain name!

I've been gone for a while!!!  I've been crocheting my behind off.  Only my behind didn't go anywhere.  Plus I had finals for school.  (4.0 in my master's program so far!! whoop whoop!!!!)  And then Christmas began.  But now that my bloggy is so official, I'll be posting more often.

I have some new years resolutions that I'll share in a post after Christmas.  I'll probably only make one more post this year to share Christmas news and then the overhaul for the new year!  I'm going to be changing a lot in the next year.

Which brings me to my next point....  Does anybody have any recommendations on blog makeovers?  I'm ready to move on from the cookie cutter Blogger layouts and sort of embrace my own "brand" if you will.  Just another part of the new year overhaul!  :)

I'll bring you up to speed on some things that have happened since I last posted....
  • My dog has broken two wire crates now.....The second one being a "heavy duty" crate..... The vet says he has severe separation anxiety.  They put him on Prozac and he wears a Thundershirt and doesn't even have to be in the crate!!!!!  Its amazing.  Its like somebody swapped dogs.  He's so good now.  Still playful, not drugged up, but behaves!!!!!  I love it.  Going on two weeks now that he hasn't been crated and its a glorious thing.
  • I'm going back to my natural hair color tomorrow.  I've been red for a long bit.
  • I'm going for this:
  • I'll post pics with the Christmas update as to how it turns out :)
  • My crocheting has taken off!  So many friends with little ones have gotten hats!!!  And I thank you all dearly for it!  I love doing something that I love to do and other people love it as well.  Still no sales from Etsy.  But maybe with adding some more stuff to my store, I'll get some.  I'm going to crochet all year next year and try to do a craft sale at one of the high schools around here.
  • HUNTING SEASON IS FINALLY OVER!!!!!!  Happy to have my hunter back home now.  :)

That's all for now.  I'll be back in a week or so with my end of the year Christmas update and then the New Year/New Me post!!!!  Keep an eye and ear out for bloggy designers for me!  I'd love some suggestions!!!

Things I {don't} love Thursday!

I've returned from the dead!!!!!  I once was lost, but now I'm found!!

No joke.  My life has been at 100mph for the past few weeks.  I work in a college advising office.  The kids just got to register before Thanksgiving, so my work life was insane for about 2 weeks.  Then I took the whole week of Thanksgiving off.  Came back to stacked up homework due for my master's class.  And now I've finally caught up.

When I opened up my reading pane of the blogs I follow, I saw that Melissa has started this new gem of Things I don't love Thursday.
Love the idea.  I get to blast all the crap that's annoyed me for a bit.  Here goes nothing!!!!!

1.  Christmas Music.
I'm straight up dreading going into a store and hearing that crap.  Its the same 10 songs over and over.  It doesn't make me cheery people.  Its just annoying....  I hate hearing 795 different versions of We Wish You A Merry Christmas.  Don't get me wrong.  I have a couple of Christmas songs I do like.  O Holy Night gets me every time.  Love it.  But I don't need the Garth Brooks version, the Backstreet Boys version, Mariah Carey version, and Barry Manilow to all sing me the same song over and over for the next month until Christmas.  Bah Humbug.

2.  My Dog's Separation Anxiety.
I do, in fact, HATE this crazy syndrome he has.  He is fine while we're at home.  But the MINUTE we leave, he goes ape shit.  He has literally snapped the wires on his wire crate and pulled on them until he has a hole he can get out of.  We've zip tied that puppy so much that its irreparable.  So we decided to leave him out of it and see how he does.  Days 1-3 were amazing.  He didn't tear anything up!  Day 4, all hell broke loose.  He got crap off the mantle. He broke mini blinds at MY EYE LEVEL.  He destroyed everything on the fridge that he could reach.... magnets, invitations, coupons, the whole shebang.  Back to the crate.  But now its so broken, there's no point.  Monday, he ate 3 Christmas tree ornaments.  I'm at my wits end.  So we ordered a freakin jail cell for him.  No way to escape this:
At least I don't think so.....  I'm also looking into getting him a ThunderShirt.  Apparently the pressure they put on the pup will calm him down.  They relate it to swaddling a baby.  Its $40 and has a 45 day money back guarantee.  If it doesn't work for your dog within the 45 days after purchase, you can return it.  Its worth a try.....

3.  No One likes my Etsy Store
I haven't had a single hit on the stuff I've put on Etsy yet!!!  Its been about 2 weeks, and nothing.  I've had lots of orders from friends on Facebook for baby beanies and stuff!  Its kept me busy!!!  And I love having the extra $$ around Christmas time!  But I'd make more stuff to put on there if I knew people were going to buy it!!!!!  Poop.

4.  Hostess is out of business.....
This is pure bologna.  And these Walgreens brand Twinkies are not the same.

Go link up with Melissa today!!!!

Oh HAPPY Day!!!!

I'm beyond ecstatic today!!!!!  I left work early on Friday to go on our roadtip this weekend.  When I came into work this morning, this was waiting on me....
I got officially got accepted into my Master's program!!!!  Before, they had admitted me conditionally because I hadn't taken the GRE yet.  I got my application in last Tuesday and had this little baby waiting on me when I got to work this morning.  Lovely.  I'm 100% official now.  Feels freakin good!!!!

I'm super pumped to have tomorrow off for the election.  And super pumped that I won't have to see that nonsense for a long while.  I hate poliltical commercials.  And I hate even more that I live just across the river from Indiana and we get their political ads on TV too!  And half the time they don't even tell you what state they're running in.  There's nothing pretty about politics.

On a sad note.  I'm 99% sure my pup is allergic to the food we've been feeding him.  My vet friend, Kacy, recommended we switch to a Lamb and Rice formula dog food to get away from the chicken/corn mixture.  I'm so hoping it works..  Poor guy is scratching himself raw.  Anybody have any tips???  Some websites say it could take 4-6 wks for the symptonms to go away, if they go away.  It could be a many week trial and error thing if the lamb and rice doesn't work for him.  I feel terrible.  Like I'm a bad dog mommy.

My friends and I went to Red River Gorge this past weekend for a road trip get away.  We had a blast.  There were 12 of us.  I don't think people understand how nuts my friends are.  We kept saying we wished there was a video camera taping us all the time.  You all wouldn't believe the funny stuff that goes on.  Love them to pieces.

Hope you had a good weekend and got good news today too!!!

Whew..... So What!

Little hiatus there.  Work is a nut house right now.  I work in the advising office and the University of Louisville.  All these little college kiddies are about to register for spring classes and are making their appointments to see what classes they'll need.  40,000 students.  I think its more like 4 million though.  That's what it feels like some day.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! I can't wait to get off work and see the kiddies coming around to trick or treat.  I love seeing what some creative parents have come up with.

I love So What Wednesday so much here lately.  I think about stuff during the week to write about.  I'll find myself doing something and thinking "you shouldn't have done that."  But then I think... "SO WHAT!!!!  Oh!!  I'll put that on the list for Wednesday!!"  You should seriously go over to Shannon's page and see what all these other hilarious ladies say so what to on Wednesdays.
Here goes nothing....  So What If......

  • I haven't posted in a while.  I finally got my grad school application in!!!  And my grad class homework for the week done.  First things first.  Priorities.
  • I give people advice I don't take myself.  Do as I say, not as I do.
  • I dressed up as a bank robber for work today.  All black everything.  Black toboggan.  Black mask.  And a bag with a dollar sign on it.  I made it last nite at 9:30 in about 15 minutes just so I could wear this toboggan to work.  Ha!
  • I spread myself too thin this week.  We're going on a road trip this weekend and I have to get everything packed for us, get the dog packed up and to my parents' house, trick or treating, laundry, and somewhere in there, I thought it'd be smart to volunteer to make some prizes for my mom's bunco party on Monday.  Somehow, I've gotten 2 of the 3 prizes I committed to done!  Placemats and two hand towels!
  • I have a pumpkin.  It was only $1.99.  But I've run out of time to carve it before the trick or treaters come tonite!!!  Wahh!
  •
  •
  • Hope yall have a happy Halloween :)

So What Wednesday!

Oh.... So What Wednesday.

Tons of people do this thing...  Go see Shannon's page to check them all out!
This week, I say So What ......

  • oh, to the fact that I took the GRE --TWO WEEKS AGO-- today.  And STILL haven't gotten my freakin graduate application submitted yet.  I officially finished the last piece today, and hopefully will get that puppy in by Friday.  Hopefully.
  • if I want to buy 500 bags of Halloween candy for the little punks in our neighborhood.  I want to throw candy off my front porch in slow motion while the little kiddies pick it up like its fallin from a damn pinata.  Boyfriend doesn't agree.  That shit is expensive.
  • if I've been cranking out baby beanies like its my day job.... while I'm at my day job....  Oh, the college kids can wait... I've got 5 more stitches to finish this row.... (wink, wink.  I kid, I kid.)
  •  Exhibit A:
  • if I don't think knitting is the thing for me.  I've knitted a section of like 15 rows.  Then effed it up and undid the whole dang thing.  I need to stick with crocheting.  I get that stuff.  I can do it fast.  I can do a million different things with it.  And quite frankly.... I don't care to learn to knit.
  • now I have 4 pair of knitting needles, and don't wanna do it anymore. oops.
  • if I didn't do jack crap this weekend to clean our house.  We've had two dogs for the past 2 weeks.  I wanted to wait til the visitor left.  That was my excuse reasoning. And I've yet to take myself back up on that idea.  Seems like every night this week, there's been something come up....  Frozen yogurt on sale, dinner with my parents, babies being born.... hey, those things don't happen often.  Carpe freakin diem.  I'll do the dumb ish later.
  • if I'm counting down the days til Christmas.  Its my perogative.  Bobby Brown told me so.  (61 days in case you were wondering!)
  • if I'm also counting down the days til Thanksgiving, which means I can officially start Christmas decorating.  (28 days there....)
  • if I used to wonder why the hell people went all out decorating for holidays.  I always thought nobody would ever care about that crap.  Now I have my own house and it all makes freakin sense.  Iwannputbowsandcraponeverything!!!!!!  Like... seriously.  You just wait til Christmas.  Santa will puke on my house.  Promise.
  • if you judge me for this crap.  I.  Don't.  Care. :)
Hope you're having a happy hump day!!!!!

Pinsperation Project!

Howdy folks.  Happy Tuesday.  As happy as Tuesday can be.  Nothing really to look forward to on Tuesdays.  Blah.  (**Warning.... Picture overload...**)

Well, surprise, surprise.  I got all crafty and Pinteresty again this weekend.  BUT, I had some help this time.  Boyfriend went hunting.  And you remember my sleeping alone phobia.  So my niece came over to keep me company.  We had tons of fun.

First, we got inspired from this pin:

Basically, you make pizza dough from TWO things!!!  So freakin easy.  Greek yogurt and self rising flour.  Boom.  Pizza dough.  Here's our pizzas after cooking!
YUM.  Not your typical round pizza, but hey, we're beginners here.  I don't sling dough for a living.  Don't judge me.  After pizza we went to grab some froyo at our new OrangeLeaf by my house.  Here's Cam eating her coffee froyo.
That ish is DELICIOUS.  Then we went to Target and played in the Halloween costumes.  Homegirl thought she was an Angry Bird.
Awesome.  This is what cool aunts do.  They let you do all the crap your parents would yell at you for.  Play away little birdie.  Just don't break anything I'd have to buy :)  The next day, we decided to make what we saw on this pin:
(The link has been deleted.... or else I'd have linked back.  Apparently Pinterest thought this link was "dangerous.") You basically make the cake as normal and put it in the cupcake holder and then put a couple drops of food coloring in each one and swirl with a toothpick!  Super easy and cool looking. Here's Our cuppy cakes before baking.
And after icing!  More deliciousness.
I sent the majority of these bad boys home with her for the brothers.  The last thing I need in my house is freakin sweets. We also did nails inspired by this pin.
Paint your nails, let them dry, make a design with a silver sharpie, and clear coat them!  Again, super easy.  Here's her final product!
And mine!

After that, we were all pinterested out.  ha.  I also gave my cousin the little beanies from this post.

No bueno.  Turns out, little Ty has a larger than normal dome.  No worries.  We will make new ones :)  That's what I'll be working on this week!!!

You should go over to LuLu and Sweet Pea and join up with their Pinsperation Project!!!!!

Not So Exciting News!

Well.  I'm a dunce.

True story.  Turns out the old saying is true.  You DO get what you pay for.  My $3 domain name was a bust.  (FYI, always go with a name you know, not the cheapest.)  It turns out Network Solutions, the company I bought my domain name from, isn't exactly compatible with Blogger.  The link that Google gives me to direct my domain to my blog is T               H              I           S          L          O     N          G!!!!!!  The blank that I get to paste that link in on the Network Solutions page.  Its only thislong.  I called.  They said they can't fit it.  Google will have to give me a shorter link.  Only you have to be the President, the Pope, or the Queen to speak to anybody at freakin Google.

So, being the genius that I am, I decide I'll transfer the domain name to Go Daddy.  Easy peasy.  And only $7.99 more.  No biggie.  Only to find out AFTER I transfer it, that there are internet rules that say you can't transfer from one company to the other until the domain name is over 60 days old.  Mine was 3.  Shoot me now.

So on December 14th, you'll finally be able to reach me at my new domain.  Maybe I'll have a re-vamp by then and I'll do yall a little dance number.  GAH.

On a brighter note.  I learned something new today.

I stopped at Wally World on the way to work and bought some needles and freakin TAUGHT  MYSELF TO KNIT!!!!!

I'm still very wobbly.  But practice makes perfect.  And now I want every size knitting needles available.  These big ones are sort of awkward.  And they make my stitches pretty loose.  I want a tight knit.  I need the smaller ones for sure.

Well, happy Friday yall!!!  My ol man is going hunting this weekend and to put up his tree stand for deer season.  I'm going to spend some time with my niece because I don't want to sleep alone never get one on one time with her.  Well, those are both true.  It'll be a nice change of pace.

Hope yall have a wonderful fall weekend.  And enjoy the trees while they're pretty.  They'll be bare before too long!!!!

Exciting News!!!!!!

I have such exciting news to share today!!!  Yesterday, I recalled a conversation I had with Shelli @ Beauties and the Baseball Coach the other day.  She said she's considering buying her domain name for herself for Christmas!  What a sweet idea.  So for poops and giggles, I decided to see if www.mysewcalledlife.com was available and holy crap it was!!!!  One site was selling for only $2.95 for the first year!!!!!!  Done.  For $3 I now own my own website!!!!  Don't go there yet though.  Its all "under construction" and ish.

Downside:  I know nothing about fixing up my blog and making things all fancy!  Help all you techno gurus!!!!!

ALSO!!!!!  I got a sweet little Tweet yesterday as well (follow me on Twitter: @kort886) from Melissa over at Lulu and Sweet Pea.  She does an awesome little Pinsperation Project Day every Tuesday.  Last week, I linked up my Pinterest Project Monday post that I had posted the day before.  And would  you believe it if I told  you that I was the MOST FREAKING VISITED SITE FROM HER LINK UP?!?!?!?!?!  Seriously.  I'm just a baby little blogger over here.  I'm no Shannon Dew or anything.  I mean, I see this chick repinned on Pinterest like a boss.  She's got her blog going on.

So that's my goal.  I'm going to try to promote the crap outta my lil ol bloggy and maybe put a couple of ads on here and supplement the humble income at my house!

Do any of you regular big-time bloggers have any suggestions on jump-starting my rise to fame in the blog world?!  (See sarcasm warning in profile :)

Project Pinterest: The Crochet Storm

Happy Monday!  Its Pinterest Project day!  Go over to ILYMTC to see what everybody else has made from Pinterest this week!!!

This past week has been pretty busy, but I managed to get a couple things done.  I've gone on a crocheting frenzy!!!  I seriously have bought more yarn in the past few weeks than I have in my whole life.  You'd think I just learned to do this!  I did get a cool new crochet toy this weekend though!  Its an ergonomic hook handle.  Its supposed to make holding that skinny little hook more friendly on your hands.

This thing is sweet!  You twist off the green part and put the hook inside and it fits your hand perfectly.  And it fits hooks all the way up to size K.  For $6, I couldn't NOT try it!

So back to the Pinteresty stuff.  I was commissioned by my cousin to make a couple hats for her baby boy.  He's in the toddler stage and needs to be warm and fashionable for winter :)  She picked out these bad boys.

I finished the bottom one.... which she obviously didn't want the flower on.  Here's the finished product!!
(**ignore pasty white skin.... my winter color is setting in!)  I can't wait to see the little cutie in this.  The football hat is next on my list!

Also, I made these!!!

My best friend is doing a cookout to benefit breast cancer research this weekend and is going to raffle off baskets.  I made a coffee basket for her to raffle off with a half pound of Starbucks Anniversary blend, a Starbucks mug, Starbucks gift card and these bad boys to go around hot cups of coffee!!!  I so hope she makes a lot of money!!!!

Hopefully something more exciting for next week.  I need to get a move on with Christmas decor!!!  And Christmas gifts!!!  I hate that I can't show you everything I'm working on since it'll give away the gifts, but you better believe I'll have stuff to show off the week after Christmas!  Can. Not. Wait!!!!!

Fab Friday!!!

Happy Fab Friday folks!!!!!!  I've been a blog stranger this week.  But for good reason.  I'll tell you why in a sec.  However, I'm linking up with Laura at Between the Lines this week for her Fab Fridays!  I needed something exciting to round out the end of this crazy week!  Lots to talk about!

FIRST,  and most exciting.  I took the GRE on Wednesday.  And blew it out of the freaking water.  I have no idea how I did it.  I studied my behind off last weekend and Monday and Tuesday.  Maybe it was that hard work paying off, maybe it was God giving me a break and a boosting my confidence levels.  I had been doing math problems out of my @$$ for hours around 1 on Tuesday, telling whoever gave a crap what X equaled, when I finally finished a section and had only missed 3 out of the 20 questions.  85%.  Good enough for me.  Sounded like a good stopping point.  I quit studying.  Then I go in this dang test.  And you literally get the feeling like you're checking in for a 5 year prison sentence.  Check your stuff in a locker, empty your pockets, take off your watch, raise your sleeves and pant legs, GET WANDED WITH A METAL DETECTOR!!!!!  Seriously, what the hell people?!  I'm taking a test, not trying to get on a plane!  Anyways.  It turned out AWESOME.  I needed a score of 170 to get into my grad program.  I killed that ish with a 303!!!!!  BOOM!

Also fab is that I've gone on a crocheting spree here lately!!!  I've made four beanies so far.  Two for me, one for the boyfriend for hunting, and one for his friend he hunts with.  I'm done with hunter's orange thank you very much.  I've been commissioned by my cousin to make a couple for her babe too.  AND yesterday, I got overly ambitious and started a freakin HOODIE!  Not sure what I was thinking.  Its a huge project.  If I EVER finish it, I'll wear that sucker every damn day.  95 degrees and I'm in a bathing suit and hoodie.  Mark my words.

I'm loving fall.  Everything about it.  Bonfires.  Leaves changing.  Colder.  Chili.  Hoodies and jeans.  I got a frickin pumpkin for $1.99 at Aldi the other day.  I'm gonna carve that sucker like a VW bus.  And I want a cocktail made of apple cider and spiced rum while I do it too.

I hope you're all having a wonderful fall too!  I'll be back next week with some fun pinterest/crafty crap!  See you then!

So What Wednesday!

Ahhh... My favorite blog day of the week.  The day I get to LET. IT. OUT.  So What Wednesday.  You already know the premise here.  I link up with Shannon.  We whine and justify the mishappenings and oddities from the past week.  Boom.  Go check out her blog!!  Lots of ladies have linked up with her, and quite frankly, its hysterical to see what people say so what to.

Any who.......

Here's what I say so what to this week!!!!

  • So what if I've been dieting for two weeks and the scale hasn't moved.  I never trusted that scale to begin with.  I FEEL better and my clothes are fitting different.... but that damn scale! AGH!  So what.  So what.  So what.  Chant with me people......
  • So what if I don't count my coffee each morning in my daily calorie count.  Its going to happen regardless, so whats the point?  And no, I don't
  • So what if I'm the poster girl for the Pinterest site?!  I'm loving that crap.  I secretly think that there was something similar to Pinterest all along and that's where Martha Stewart got all her ideas.  Cuz that broad doesn't seem half as crafty now that I have a website to consult before I do ANYTHING:  cook, sew, craft, crochet, get dressed, decorate my house... blah blah blah.....  I love that crap.  Lord help me if the site ever crashes..... I think I do at least one thing a day that I learned on there.
  • So what if I'm supposed to be studying for the GRE right now instead of blogging.  My brain seriously goes to mush when this freakin study book asks me to find the value of x.  I. Don't. Care.  And honestly, I'm never going to have to find the area of a triangle for the rest of my life.  I made it through my undergrad career and got my bachelor's degree, can't the master's program accept that as their proof that I'm not a blazing moron?!  AND save me $175 for this dang test.....
  • So what if I'm choosing my next semester's classes based on what books my co-workers have.  If one book costs flipping $170, I'll gladly take a class that my buddy has a book for and save that dough.  And I'll like it too.
  • So what if I just keep talking about making an Etsy site.... and never do it.  Its the thought that counts right?!  Although, I do need to get on it.  I could seriously use the extra dough.  I just don't understand how some people have the time to work a full time job and crank out quilts and crap like its no big deal.  When I get home, I wanna eat and watch Jeopardy.  End of story.  But I guess I could be working on that crafty stuff while I watch TV.... shoot.
  • So what if I want to put up the Christmas tree now?!  I promise I'll decorate it with little pumpkins until Thanksgiving!
What are you saying So What to this Wednesday????

Project Pinterest--Weeks 2 and 3!

So after visiting ILYMTC blog this week, I realized, I'm a week behind.  But the good news is that I did two pinterest projects this week!!!!!  Whoop!

First, for the project to be considered "Week 2," I got a jump start on my Christmas mantle.  I got the idea from this picture.

BUT, you know I have to adapt things a bit.....  So I pulled a little bit of a "Redneck Wine Glass" on this decor and hot glued candle sticks to the bottom.  Here's the before and afters.

I wanted them to be a bit tiered.  There will be one tall and one short on each side of the TV.  I got this stuff for CHEAP at a peddler's mall.  The big jars were $1.50 each and the small ones $1 each.  The candle sticks were between $1 and $2 each too.  I love that none of the candle sticks are the same.  But they make the jars the same height.  When I put them on the mantle, I'm going to put a pillar candle in them and epsom salt around the candle so it looks like snow!!!  :)  Then I'll tie a ribbon around the top of the candle stick to be *SO* festive.  PUMPED.  And I'm falling in love with my glue gun.

For the Week 3 project..... I got my inspiration from this pin....
I can NEVER find my keys in the dumpster I call my purse.  And our fridge is filling up at a rapid pace with crap we've stuck on there with magnets.  So I figured why not make a place to store my keys and leave IMPORTANT notes.  Lord knows I have enough wine corks to complete this project!  Here's the final product!
I got a $2.50 picture frame from the Dollar General.  And those hooks were only $1 there too.  We won't talk about how much wine I drank to get those corks.  I am going to get some ribbon to hot glue to the back of this and hang it with.  Its going to be awesome.  And it was so cheap!!!!  I love cheap projects!!!!!

I've got more projects planned for next week.  Can't wait!!!!

Pinterest Monday

I've linked up with Ap at ILYMTC this week for Project Pinterest!
This week's project was a yarn wreath for my front door!!!!  I've had the stuff to do this for.ev.er.  No literally.  Since the beginning of summer.  You see... my goal is to do the next season's crafts in the season before (i.e.  do fall's crafts in summer, winter's crafts in fall.... etc.) so that I can stay on top of my crafting game.  I don't have to wait til the end of fall to finally put up my fall wreath.  I get to enjoy it the whole fall!  BUT!  Life gets in the way.  And I just now got to my fall wreath... which was inspired from THIS pin!

First of all... my personal suggestion to make your yarn wreath... would be to go buy pool noodles NOW!!!!  They're on clearance from the summer ending and they are mucho cheapero than buying foam wreaths.  $1 > $5!!!!  Duct tape that puppy in a circle and you got a wreath.  BOOM!

Now comes the circling.  With the yarn.  Over and over again.  It. Gets. Boring.  But it makes a super cute wreath!!  Once I was done covering it with yarn, I made some twirly felt flowers and hot glued those bad boys on.  Ta da!  Wreath dominated.
Now I need to get busy on my Christmas wreath.  And the decorations for my mantle.  I also added a few more decorations to the house this weekend for fall.  They're pretty cute!
Simple blessings on our china hutch in the kitchen.  $2 for the pumpkin and $1 for the leaves!!!  Yeah buddy!

I added some leaves to my existing decor too.  And finally I added some little baby wreaths to my windows on each side of the TV with some fall ribbon!
Perfect.  Just enough for fall.  Now.... for Christmas, I'll go nuts.  I can't freakin wait.  Next week's project will be for the mantle decor for Christmas!

This was last week's project.  Inspired from HERE
They now live on each side of our TV in the bedroom!!!!
I ad-libbed the K and B.  I think they're awesome though.  Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest?!

So What Wednesday

Oh.  Hi.  Its time for So What Wednesday.

So what if......
  • I quit taking my antibiotics before I finished them.  I mean... did you SEE those horse pills in my last blog???
  • I booked my hair appointments from now til the end of the year.  I refuse to go to Thanksgiving or Christmas with 2 inch roots....
  • I quit with Halloween this year.  I mean... I'm 26.  Time to stop wasting money on costumes and dressing like a hooker.
  • That last statement officially means I'm getting old.  Sigh....
  • I'm already planning Christmas parties at my house.  Um, hello.  There's only 96 shopping days left.  Better get a move on!!!
  • I think some stuff on Pinterest is effing GENIUS.  It seriously makes me mad that I'm not clever enough to come up with that crap.
  • Other stuff on Pinterest is a joke.  I mean... really.  When are you ever going to fill a truck bed with blankets and go stargazing.  Seriously people, I have crap to get done.  Like that stupid yarn wreath I've been looking at making for 3 months.
  • I say I'm going to get ahead and do my homework so I don't have to wait til the last minute.  Then I procrastinate and wait til the last minute to do my homework.  Never.  Ending.  Cycle.
  • Just because I'm on a diet, I've been craving sweets.  I never crave sweets.  The devil is involved here somewhere.

Return from the dead.....

I have returned to the land of the living. Whew.

I came down with something awful this weekend.

The yard sale was a bust.  We woke up at 7am and it was raining.  Chalking it up as a loss, we went back to bed.  Only to wake up to a BEAUTIFUL FREAKING DAY at 11.  So much for that yard sale.  After making a lap around the neighborhood, ours would have been the crappiest one in the whole subdivision.  The people in my neighborhood are NO JOKE about yard sales.  If there were an Olympic sport for it, Prairie Village would take the gold.

So anyways.... got myself ready, made sure the BF knew what brand of butt covers to buy for the diaper party and we parted ways to go to our respective baby shower events.  (Which, BTW, I'll add here that it is pretty damn bogus for dudes to get to go drink massive amounts of beer and eat hot wings while chicks gotta "ooh" an "awe" and baby talk for 2 hours while the miserably pregnant mother to be does her best not to give birth while opening seven million onesies.  How fair is this?  Don't get me wrong.... my friends are the prettiest pregnant broads you ever saw.  And we can throw one hell of a party.... But this gender standard BS is for the birds.....)

Back to the regularly scheduled program.

Got thru that, watched my Cards put an ass-whoopin on Mizzou State and then got the fever.  The real one, not the figurative one.  Within an hour of dinner, I was begging to go home.  Sunday.... I, the early riser, the can't-sleep-past-8-am person that I am, slept until 4 in the afternoon.  I knew it was bad this time.

Called out sick Monday and headed straight to the doctor.  He gave me these horse pill antibiotics and something to decongest me.  I can barely swallow these suckers.  And when I do... I fear I'll need the Heimlich.
My pup must have known I was puny.  He followed me around and sat wherever I sat all day.
Tuesday wasn't much better.  But I did get some crafting done while my face was dripping mucus.
I made these canvases for each side of the TV in our bedroom.  They turned out perfect!!!
Thank you Pinterest for the inspiration.  I painted the canvases the same color as our bedroom walls.  And I used a paper doily from the cake section at Hobby Lobby since I didn't have real doilies. I added my own little flair with the letters.  I also finished BF's tree stand steats for this hunting season.  His cushions were dryrotted and he wanted a thicker foam for his sensitive little bum.  So I went to work like a BOSS and made these:
He's all pumped and stuff.  :)  Then I started this toilet paper art idea that I found on Pinterest.
There are now 23 billion little TP flowers all over the place at my house.  I also cut out a quilt.  And lastly, taught myself to crochet a beanie.  I knew how to crochet before, but not in a circle or to make a beanie with increasing stitches and decreasing stitches.  I had to force myself to follow a pattern and count stitches and the like.  It turned out pretty good.  At least BF thinks so :)
Pink is so his color.

So far this week, I've learned that I'm craft ADD.  I went from one project to the next and didn't clean anything up after myself.  And if it weren't for feeling like poo and 643 nose blowings per day, I'd say being sick wasn't so bad.  But then I take another horse pill and I'm reminded that it SUCKS.

Hope you've had a better week than me!
