I have such exciting news to share today!!! Yesterday, I recalled a conversation I had with Shelli @ Beauties and the Baseball Coach the other day. She said she's considering buying her domain name for herself for Christmas! What a sweet idea. So for poops and giggles, I decided to see if www.mysewcalledlife.com was available and holy crap it was!!!! One site was selling for only $2.95 for the first year!!!!!! Done. For $3 I now own my own website!!!! Don't go there yet though. Its all "under construction" and ish.
Downside: I know nothing about fixing up my blog and making things all fancy! Help all you techno gurus!!!!!
ALSO!!!!! I got a sweet little Tweet yesterday as well (follow me on Twitter: @kort886) from Melissa over at Lulu and Sweet Pea. She does an awesome little Pinsperation Project Day every Tuesday. Last week, I linked up my Pinterest Project Monday post that I had posted the day before. And would you believe it if I told you that I was the MOST FREAKING VISITED SITE FROM HER LINK UP?!?!?!?!?! Seriously. I'm just a baby little blogger over here. I'm no Shannon Dew or anything. I mean, I see this chick repinned on Pinterest like a boss. She's got her blog going on.
So that's my goal. I'm going to try to promote the crap outta my lil ol bloggy and maybe put a couple of ads on here and supplement the humble income at my house!
Do any of you regular big-time bloggers have any suggestions on jump-starting my rise to fame in the blog world?! (See sarcasm warning in profile :)

Project Pinterest: The Crochet Storm
Happy Monday! Its Pinterest Project day! Go over to ILYMTC to see what everybody else has made from Pinterest this week!!!
This past week has been pretty busy, but I managed to get a couple things done. I've gone on a crocheting frenzy!!! I seriously have bought more yarn in the past few weeks than I have in my whole life. You'd think I just learned to do this! I did get a cool new crochet toy this weekend though! Its an ergonomic hook handle. Its supposed to make holding that skinny little hook more friendly on your hands.
This thing is sweet! You twist off the green part and put the hook inside and it fits your hand perfectly. And it fits hooks all the way up to size K. For $6, I couldn't NOT try it!
So back to the Pinteresty stuff. I was commissioned by my cousin to make a couple hats for her baby boy. He's in the toddler stage and needs to be warm and fashionable for winter :) She picked out these bad boys.
I finished the bottom one.... which she obviously didn't want the flower on. Here's the finished product!!
(**ignore pasty white skin.... my winter color is setting in!) I can't wait to see the little cutie in this. The football hat is next on my list!
Also, I made these!!!
My best friend is doing a cookout to benefit breast cancer research this weekend and is going to raffle off baskets. I made a coffee basket for her to raffle off with a half pound of Starbucks Anniversary blend, a Starbucks mug, Starbucks gift card and these bad boys to go around hot cups of coffee!!! I so hope she makes a lot of money!!!!
Hopefully something more exciting for next week. I need to get a move on with Christmas decor!!! And Christmas gifts!!! I hate that I can't show you everything I'm working on since it'll give away the gifts, but you better believe I'll have stuff to show off the week after Christmas! Can. Not. Wait!!!!!

So What Wednesday!
Ahhh... My favorite blog day of the week. The day I get to LET. IT. OUT. So What Wednesday. You already know the premise here. I link up with Shannon. We whine and justify the mishappenings and oddities from the past week. Boom. Go check out her blog!! Lots of ladies have linked up with her, and quite frankly, its hysterical to see what people say so what to.
Any who.......
Here's what I say so what to this week!!!!
Any who.......
Here's what I say so what to this week!!!!
- So what if I've been dieting for two weeks and the scale hasn't moved. I never trusted that scale to begin with. I FEEL better and my clothes are fitting different.... but that damn scale! AGH! So what. So what. So what. Chant with me people......
- So what if I don't count my coffee each morning in my daily calorie count. Its going to happen regardless, so whats the point? And no, I don't
- So what if I'm the poster girl for the Pinterest site?! I'm loving that crap. I secretly think that there was something similar to Pinterest all along and that's where Martha Stewart got all her ideas. Cuz that broad doesn't seem half as crafty now that I have a website to consult before I do ANYTHING: cook, sew, craft, crochet, get dressed, decorate my house... blah blah blah..... I love that crap. Lord help me if the site ever crashes..... I think I do at least one thing a day that I learned on there.
- So what if I'm supposed to be studying for the GRE right now instead of blogging. My brain seriously goes to mush when this freakin study book asks me to find the value of x. I. Don't. Care. And honestly, I'm never going to have to find the area of a triangle for the rest of my life. I made it through my undergrad career and got my bachelor's degree, can't the master's program accept that as their proof that I'm not a blazing moron?! AND save me $175 for this dang test.....
- So what if I'm choosing my next semester's classes based on what books my co-workers have. If one book costs flipping $170, I'll gladly take a class that my buddy has a book for and save that dough. And I'll like it too.
- So what if I just keep talking about making an Etsy site.... and never do it. Its the thought that counts right?! Although, I do need to get on it. I could seriously use the extra dough. I just don't understand how some people have the time to work a full time job and crank out quilts and crap like its no big deal. When I get home, I wanna eat and watch Jeopardy. End of story. But I guess I could be working on that crafty stuff while I watch TV.... shoot.
- So what if I want to put up the Christmas tree now?! I promise I'll decorate it with little pumpkins until Thanksgiving!

Project Pinterest--Weeks 2 and 3!
So after visiting ILYMTC blog this week, I realized, I'm a week behind. But the good news is that I did two pinterest projects this week!!!!! Whoop!
First, for the project to be considered "Week 2," I got a jump start on my Christmas mantle. I got the idea from this picture.
BUT, you know I have to adapt things a bit..... So I pulled a little bit of a "Redneck Wine Glass" on this decor and hot glued candle sticks to the bottom. Here's the before and afters.
I wanted them to be a bit tiered. There will be one tall and one short on each side of the TV. I got this stuff for CHEAP at a peddler's mall. The big jars were $1.50 each and the small ones $1 each. The candle sticks were between $1 and $2 each too. I love that none of the candle sticks are the same. But they make the jars the same height. When I put them on the mantle, I'm going to put a pillar candle in them and epsom salt around the candle so it looks like snow!!! :) Then I'll tie a ribbon around the top of the candle stick to be *SO* festive. PUMPED. And I'm falling in love with my glue gun.
For the Week 3 project..... I got my inspiration from this pin....
I can NEVER find my keys in the dumpster I call my purse. And our fridge is filling up at a rapid pace with crap we've stuck on there with magnets. So I figured why not make a place to store my keys and leave IMPORTANT notes. Lord knows I have enough wine corks to complete this project! Here's the final product!
I got a $2.50 picture frame from the Dollar General. And those hooks were only $1 there too. We won't talk about how much wine I drank to get those corks. I am going to get some ribbon to hot glue to the back of this and hang it with. Its going to be awesome. And it was so cheap!!!! I love cheap projects!!!!!
I've got more projects planned for next week. Can't wait!!!!

Pinterest Monday
I've linked up with Ap at ILYMTC this week for Project Pinterest!
This week's project was a yarn wreath for my front door!!!! I've had the stuff to do this for.ev.er. No literally. Since the beginning of summer. You see... my goal is to do the next season's crafts in the season before (i.e. do fall's crafts in summer, winter's crafts in fall.... etc.) so that I can stay on top of my crafting game. I don't have to wait til the end of fall to finally put up my fall wreath. I get to enjoy it the whole fall! BUT! Life gets in the way. And I just now got to my fall wreath... which was inspired from THIS pin!
First of all... my personal suggestion to make your yarn wreath... would be to go buy pool noodles NOW!!!! They're on clearance from the summer ending and they are mucho cheapero than buying foam wreaths. $1 > $5!!!! Duct tape that puppy in a circle and you got a wreath. BOOM!
Now comes the circling. With the yarn. Over and over again. It. Gets. Boring. But it makes a super cute wreath!! Once I was done covering it with yarn, I made some twirly felt flowers and hot glued those bad boys on. Ta da! Wreath dominated.
Now I need to get busy on my Christmas wreath. And the decorations for my mantle. I also added a few more decorations to the house this weekend for fall. They're pretty cute!
Simple blessings on our china hutch in the kitchen. $2 for the pumpkin and $1 for the leaves!!! Yeah buddy!
I added some leaves to my existing decor too. And finally I added some little baby wreaths to my windows on each side of the TV with some fall ribbon!
Perfect. Just enough for fall. Now.... for Christmas, I'll go nuts. I can't freakin wait. Next week's project will be for the mantle decor for Christmas!
This was last week's project. Inspired from HERE.
They now live on each side of our TV in the bedroom!!!!
I ad-libbed the K and B. I think they're awesome though. Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest?!

Return from the dead.....
I have returned to the land of the living. Whew.
I came down with something awful this weekend.
The yard sale was a bust. We woke up at 7am and it was raining. Chalking it up as a loss, we went back to bed. Only to wake up to a BEAUTIFUL FREAKING DAY at 11. So much for that yard sale. After making a lap around the neighborhood, ours would have been the crappiest one in the whole subdivision. The people in my neighborhood are NO JOKE about yard sales. If there were an Olympic sport for it, Prairie Village would take the gold.
So anyways.... got myself ready, made sure the BF knew what brand of butt covers to buy for the diaper party and we parted ways to go to our respective baby shower events. (Which, BTW, I'll add here that it is pretty damn bogus for dudes to get to go drink massive amounts of beer and eat hot wings while chicks gotta "ooh" an "awe" and baby talk for 2 hours while the miserably pregnant mother to be does her best not to give birth while opening seven million onesies. How fair is this? Don't get me wrong.... my friends are the prettiest pregnant broads you ever saw. And we can throw one hell of a party.... But this gender standard BS is for the birds.....)
Back to the regularly scheduled program.
Got thru that, watched my Cards put an ass-whoopin on Mizzou State and then got the fever. The real one, not the figurative one. Within an hour of dinner, I was begging to go home. Sunday.... I, the early riser, the can't-sleep-past-8-am person that I am, slept until 4 in the afternoon. I knew it was bad this time.
Called out sick Monday and headed straight to the doctor. He gave me these horse pill antibiotics and something to decongest me. I can barely swallow these suckers. And when I do... I fear I'll need the Heimlich.
My pup must have known I was puny. He followed me around and sat wherever I sat all day.
Tuesday wasn't much better. But I did get some crafting done while my face was dripping mucus.
I made these canvases for each side of the TV in our bedroom. They turned out perfect!!!
Thank you Pinterest for the inspiration. I painted the canvases the same color as our bedroom walls. And I used a paper doily from the cake section at Hobby Lobby since I didn't have real doilies. I added my own little flair with the letters. I also finished BF's tree stand steats for this hunting season. His cushions were dryrotted and he wanted a thicker foam for his sensitive little bum. So I went to work like a BOSS and made these:
He's all pumped and stuff. :) Then I started this toilet paper art idea that I found on Pinterest.
There are now 23 billion little TP flowers all over the place at my house. I also cut out a quilt. And lastly, taught myself to crochet a beanie. I knew how to crochet before, but not in a circle or to make a beanie with increasing stitches and decreasing stitches. I had to force myself to follow a pattern and count stitches and the like. It turned out pretty good. At least BF thinks so :)
Pink is so his color.
So far this week, I've learned that I'm craft ADD. I went from one project to the next and didn't clean anything up after myself. And if it weren't for feeling like poo and 643 nose blowings per day, I'd say being sick wasn't so bad. But then I take another horse pill and I'm reminded that it SUCKS.
Hope you've had a better week than me!
